Can you not think of a cooler image than a chef who regularly races his collection of vintage motorcycles when he’s not out working on his 25-acre deer farm on the outskirts of Christchurch? How ‘Southern Man’ is that? Graham Brown is a huge food talent and one of this country’s top culinary ambassadors, having cooked for royalty, celebrities and now us! Currently he’s travelling the world promoting the virtues and superior quality of New Zealand farmed venison to chefs and consumers through educational demonstrations at top culinary schools, food fairs and culinary events. His speciality is demonstrating his favourite venison recipes on television for the home cook. When he is on home shores however, and not running the farm or racing bikes, he’s operating “The Cookhouse” cooking school and combining that with wine and food tours of his favourite southern destinations.
