Clive originally trained in Chemistry before getting the wine bug so he has always had an analytical approach to the wine game. While he can still make sense of a chicken wire diagram his Pinot philosophy is ‘less is more’ and sometimes the best decision is to do nothing. He believes it is very important to occasionally take time out to relax in comfortable environment and get ‘fully immersed’ in what is happening in the world of wine.

Clive is GM/Winemaker/chief light bulb changer for Nautilus Estate in Marlborough and has mastered cooking a 63 degree egg in the lab water bath – having discovered it works perfectly well as a sous vide.
