Duncan Forsyth

The Morris Dancer

Morris dance is a form of English folk dance usually accompanied by music. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures by a group of dancers, usually wearing bell pads on their shins. Perfect. Duncan’s ability to lead us all by the clay pipe has afforded him legend status as a mystic of matters pinot, the big picture navel gazer of the group. Some have suggested he may be a mythical creature.

Duncan was raised on the idea that consumption is the starting point for any good wine conversation, Duncan’s background growing up in the Hutt Valley has prepared him well for the rigours of Pinot Noir NZ 2017 that lie ahead. Helpfully he is also a Pinot Noir winemaker at Mount Edward in Central Otago.
