The Flower Fairy
Cicely Mary Barker’s book ‘A Flower Fairies Treasury’ has been delighting children for generations with beautiful pictures of fairies dressed and camouflaged in the flowers of the trees they inhabit. Jacqui Murphy is, in fact, a flower fairy. The tree she inhabits is New Zealandus Pinot Noira. Sometimes difficult to spot through all the bigger personalities surrounding her branches, she is the one getting on with the most important jobs such as coercing flowering, managing fruit set and training errant tendrils. In other words, essential.
Jacqui is the General Manager at Two Paddocks in Central Otago. An obvious Banksia fan, she is also a schist advocate who is primarily pinotarian.
