If someone had a gun to your head and said “name one high-profile pinot woman in New Zealand in 5 seconds or it’s curtains” then you’d calmly say “Lynnette Hudson” and have 4 seconds to gloat. Her wealth of experience gained making wine here and overseas over the last 25 years has seen her become an in-demand wine consultant to businesses stretching the length and breadth of this country and even as far as Crimea. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Auckland University, Lynnette moved south to study viticulture and oenology at Lincoln University, and it was while in Canterbury she met pioneer pinot grower Danny Schuster, working for him at Omihi Hills before embarking on a 20 year career at Pegasus Bay in Waipara. During this time Hudson also worked in Burgundy at prestigious wineries such as Domaine George Roumier, Nicolas Potel and Domaine de la Vougeraie in Premeaux-Prissey. In 2011 Lynnette joined forces with 5 enthusiastic wine folk to form Tongue In Groove, a wine company with pinot noir and riesling at its heart.
